Biography

Visual artist Ron Bernard spent his early childhood in rural New Hampshire where he developed a love, appreciation and respect for the environment God created. "When I sat in the classroom, my heart was outdoors."

What started as a pastime in photography became a full time career. Over the years, Ron earned a Master of Photography Degree and the Florida Degree of Photographic Excellence. One of his environmental portraits was selected for one year exhibit at Disney's Epcot Center.

In professional competition, Ron was awarded a Kodak Gallery Award for Portraiture, and a Fuji Masterpiece Award for Best Environmental Portrait in the Southeast, as well as numerous other Florida state awards. In 2002, Ron was one of the "Featured Artists" at Decor Expo Atlanta. In his local community, Ron and his wife Claudia have operated their portrait photography and fine art studio for over 30 years. In 1997 they were awarded the Manatee County Blue Chip Chamber of Commerce "Small Business of the Year."

Ron's most recent event was a 2 week gallery show at The Studio at Gulf & Pine on Anna Maria Island, Florida. The gallery is owned by former Florida First Lady Rhea Chiles.

Ron's art has been featured in many national art magazines, such as Art Business News, Art World News, U.S. Art, and Decor Magazine. He creates and publishes his work in his studio and gallery at 714 - 43rd St. W., Bradenton, Florida 34209. Contact email is bernardfineart@verizon.net.
